The stone quarries of the dacians

THE STONE QUARRIES OF THE DACIANS is another project initiated by the DACICA Foundation as a framework for investigations in multidisciplinary teams, geological-archaeological, of sites known as stone sources for Dacian fortresses in Transylvania. In 2019, it partially merged with the RoQ-Stone project, where there was a similarity of objectives.

The sites have been included so far are Măgura Călanului, Pietroasa-Deva, Geoagiu, Alun, Bucova, Bologa, Moigrad, but also other perimeters from the Șureanu Mountains and the Hațeg area, as they are Ohaba Ponor, Costești – La Părete, Vârtoape.
